Microneedling for women

This science-based approach can help with:

  • Fine lines and texture
  • Mild scarring or acne scars
  • Uneven tone
  • Enlarged pores
  • Signs of aging or sun damage

What makes SkinPen® unique?

What makes SkinPen® unique is its balance of clinical effectiveness and comfort. The procedure is customized to your skin and performed with care — so you feel supported at every step. Whether you’re refreshing your complexion or targeting specific concerns, SkinPen® microneedling is a thoughtful way to help your skin look healthier, smoother, and more vibrant.

Why Choose SkinPen® Microneedling at our clinic?

During perimenopause and menopause, estrogen shifts can leave skin feeling thinner, drier, and less elastic, with more visible fine lines, enlarged pores, and uneven tone.

SkinPen microneedling is a precise, non-heat collagen-induction treatment that helps improve texture and firmness while supporting a radiant, youthful-looking complexion—naturally and safely across all skin tones.

  • Health Canada–licensed SkinPen® device
  • Professional, sterile technique with single-use needle cartridges
  • Face + neck treatment option in one visit
  • Acupuncture during numbing to calm the nervous system and support healthy circulation
  • Professional-grade serums during treatment + a simple aftercare kit to take home
  • Minimal downtime; results build over weeks as collagen remodels

SkinPen® Microneedling FAQ

Who is an ideal candidate?

Patients seeking a natural, preventive approach to rejuvenation, especially for texture changes, fine lines, and pigmentation. SkinPen is suitable across skin tones because it uses mechanical micro-channels (no heat).

Patients who would like to improve the appearance of their scars - whether caused by acne, surgery or accidents.

What are the contraindications? (We'll also review at consult.)

  • Active skin infection, open wounds, or inflamed acne in the area
  • History of keloid scarring or poor wound healing
  • Pregnancy or nursing
  • Allergy to stainless steel or topical anesthetics
  • Recent isotretinoin (Accutane) use—ask us about timing
  • If you’re prone to cold sores, please request prophylaxis

How many treatments do I need?

Most patients choose 3-6 sessions spaced ~4 weeks apart for best results, with optional maintenance every 6–12 months. You’ll notice a fresh glow within days; smoothing and firming continue to improve over 4–12 weeks.

Is there downtime?

Expect a “sun-kissed” pinkness/tightness for 24–48 hours. You can usually resume normal activities quickly; makeup is fine after 24-48 hours if skin is calm.

Does it hurt?

We apply topical numbing; most describe the sensation as a light vibration or scratchiness.

Will it help melasma and pigmentation?

SkinPen can support the appearance of melasma and uneven tone by encouraging even cell turnover and collagen remodeling. We’ll tailor depth and aftercare to protect your skin barrier.

Is microneedling safe for my skin tone?

Yes. Because SkinPen isn’t heat-based, it’s suitable for all skin tones with customized settings.

How is your treatment different?

We combine a licensed medical device, professional serums, and acupuncture during numbing to support relaxation and healthy microcirculation.  Patients love how calm the acupuncture helps them feel, and how it complements recovery.
